afx Fairground Class Rules- 1.3125" (1-5/16") wide

Fairgrounds is the weekend warrior and gas station shop racing down at the local circle track. Another fast one here; great fun and excitement.


Chassis Specifications
AFX Magna-traction or JL/AW X-traction
Modifications- mounting tabs may be removed and screw posts installed
Bottom of chassis may be sanded but shall still retain plastic under magnets.

No metal bearings allowed
 

Magnets
AFX Ceramic magnets

Magnets may be shimmed with non ferrous material

No killer bee magnets


Armature
Any Aurora, AFX, JL/AW
Minimum ohm of 14.0
Armature can be balanced and trued
No de-winds or rewinds


Electrical System 

Pick up shoes – open (maybe restricted) 

Skis are not allowed

Pick up shoe springs - open

Brushes-open (maybe scored)
 

Gears
Gears- open
Crown gear shall be plastic
Maybe shaved and shimmed
Spacers permitted both inside and outside of the chassis
Cluster gear rivet maybe replaced with a screw
 

Axles
Any axle allowed
Front end - open
Rear rims - open, should support slip on silicone tires
 

Tires
Rear Tires - any color slip on
Front Tires - open
 

Bodies
Hard shell injection molded or resin cast 

American 2 door model 1950-1985 

Bodies “Fairgrounds” style
Body must have 3 numbers
Windshields are optional
Bodies maybe lightened and lowered
Bumpers are optional
Screw post allowed
 

Note
All AFX and JL/AW parts can be mixed and matched in either chassis
